Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime...
But sometimes, you just gotta give the guy the friggin' fish.

I've got a Harry Potter, I'm all in!

In the game of Texas Hold 'Em poker, curently one of the most popular varieties of poker being played now, to start the hand, you get two cards, called your "hole cards". Certain combinations of these hole cards have acquired nicknames.

For example, JJ (two Jacks) is called Fish Hooks, 88 (two eights) is called Snowmen and J5 (a Jack and a 5) is called Motown (for the Jackson Five).

However, today on Managing Information News, we learn of a new hold 'em poker hand nickname.

According to the article, this hand (a Jack and a King) is now known as a "Harry Potter", because of its famous author, J.K. Rowling.

Is that cool, or what?

ADDENDUM: Thanks to Wizard News reader Gloria in Whittier, CA who wrote in to say that in addition to the "Harry Potter" hand in poker, now "Snake Eyes" in the game of craps is now called a "Voldemort" (for obvious reasons...) :-)
